There are so many fabrics to consider. Cotton, number one on my list, must be washed initially in cold water and dried on an air only setting. This “sets” the fabric and color, and establishes a near perfect end to its’ ever shrinking. This is especially important with dyed cottons, like T-shirts and underwear.

The thought is that washing your jeans deteriorates their quality and color leads to them being worn out quicker.
